Hunting Tourism is a very diverse phenomenon. For most amateur hunters the main purpose of this is to walk in the woods and not the game.

The tourisms like photo-, film- or video-hunting do not just belong to sports and recreation, but also represent cognitive activity.

There is steadily increasing interest in Stavropol Krai in terms of hunting tourism and fishing. The hunting areas of the region, as well as the water resources full of fish are quite extensive.

In case of a license in place, you can hunt (within certain time limits) waterfowl, wolf, fox, marten, weasel, hare, ground squirrel.

16 public restricted areas have been established in the region, which was done in order to reproduce and maintain the population of rare animals. There are three special areas protected by constantly present gamekeepers (Krasnogvardeisky Rayon; Ipatovsky Raypn; Petrovsky Rayon). On Lake Vshivoe (Shpakovsky Rayon) and Lake Solenoe (Petrovsky Rayon), as well as on Chograiskoe Water Storage and Lake Manych-Gudilo yo can observe waterfowl.

Fishing is another activity that is interesting for those visiting Stavropol Krai yet not so popular like hunting. Amateur fishing is common all over the region, and the most interesting places here are the rivers Kuban, Kuma, Podkumok, Terek, Egorlyk, Kalaus, and the smaller ones – Kugulta, Tomuzlovka, Aigurja, Grachevka. Among those fond of fishing popular are the water storages – Egorlykskoe, Novotroitskoe, Otkaznenskoe, Proletarskoe, Chograiskoe.
