Currently, there are three mobile operators functioning in Stavropol Krai – the so-called Big Three – JSC Vympel-Communications (brand Beeline); JSC Megafon, JSC Mobile Telesystems (MTS).
The capacity of the mobile operators in Stavropol Krai is 3,590,000 subscribers. The presence of mobile operators is 132%.
Today, the mobile operators have done a great job expanding their coverage in the region with the new generation of 3G technology. This has allowed increasing the technological threshold of the maximum speed for the mobile Internet from 14 Mb/s to 21 Mb/s. The availability of high-speed mobile Internet promotes business and social development offering the users whole new opportunities for communication, training, and entertainment. Other positive features of the 3rd Generation networks include high quality communication, security, and reduced radiation.
